We have all heard the phrase “You reap what you sow.”  Central to yogic thought is the law of karmathe law of universal causality, the idea that for every action there is a reaction.  We create our future with our thoughts and actions.   Discussed in the Bhagavad Gita and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, one of the paths to union is karma yogathe yoga of action.  Offering selfless service to others is a way to bring a personal practice off the mat and into the world.   By acting without thought of gain or reward one may purify the heart and sublimate the ego.
